I rarely write reviews and this experience truly ranks in the once in a lifetime category.  I can go on and on about the laughter shared by all, incredible generosity of spirit of Sandra Eliana and her entire family, deep knowledge, dedication and passion for their craft of the environment but you should discover it on your own and you will be so so happy you did! Hier erlebst du hautnah wie seit jahrzehnten der Kaffee mit Herzblut kultiviert wird. Von der Saat über die Pflege, Ernte  und die Herstellung eines rein biologischen und feinen Kaffees erlebst du alles aktiv mitmachend in einer wunderbaren Landschaft, weit oben in der Höhe, wo nur noch Pferd und Mensch hinauf gelangen. Die Kaffeebauern sind herzlich, berichten sehr anschaulich und informativ, und bewirten dich mit köstlicher authentischer Speise. Sandra and Julian’s coffee farm tour (interpreted through the lovely Melissa) is truly a delightful and charming experience.  With a great and convenient pick up location within Medellin, you are transported to the mythical undulating farmlands outside of the city to see a real ecological farm built into the Colombian mountainside. 

If the landscape weren’t enough, the journey there is accompanied by Julian’s lively stories of tall tales and pre-Colombian history—I won’t spoil them here!

The farm is atop a mountain side and after a fun hike up, a pre-farming snack awaits before getting to work and learning about the coffee process and farming process.  Sandra and Julian are clearly passionate about farming and sustainable living.  I had a real farm-to-table experience, harvesting yuca and peppers from the garden and having it prepared within our lunch!

I cannot stress what a unique and charming experience this was and a great little getaway from the city to see some real Colombian life.

I had an amazing experience. I did the tour with my girlfriend and learn a lot about coffee:  the whole production chain from gathering to exportation (also about cafeteros society). The spot is amazing, around mountains with a lot of green (it is a bowl of air close to Medellin). The village close to it is nice and worth visiting it and recommend to take the whole day for that experience if you plan to go back to Medellin. I could taste some coffee, feed a horse, gather coffee (optional: because that is a hard job). During that day I also could speak with farmers that lived there most of their lives and learned about their experience.
